London Terror Alert

When I was in Stockholm, Ida commented on my water bottle, which is an aluminum Sigg bottle that looks exactly like the canisters of gas used to fuel a camping stove. I joked that I could probably get on a plane with a canister of gas and blow the thing up, because my water bottle never raised suspicion going through the x-ray machines at the airports. Two nights later, Linsen called as I was packing for London and told me about the terror alert. My flight to London was only partly delayed and I've arrived safely, though I now face the prospect of flying back to NYC on Wednesday. I was surprised at the Malmo airport when I checked all of my luggage but it wasn't required. I'm not sure what stops someone on an arriving plane into London from handing off some small items to someone departing from the same gate (as that departing passenger has already made it through security).
British Airways cancelled some 400 flights on Thursday, so if I happen to get cancelled, my backup plan is a quick trip to Iceland. Nobody blows up Iceland Air flights.

When I was about 13, I was very in to remote control cars - I've got about 100 trophies from winning races.

Anyway, I would fly to NJ quite frequently to visit my father and I would take my race support equipment including high voltage batteries, a soldering iron, and various POLS (petrolium, oil, and lubricants) in a fishing tackle box right on the plane with me.

Oh, the old days!

aren't petroleum and oil also known as lubricants?
